About The Position

The Business Intelligence Developer (BID) will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports, extracts and dashboards within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals and IT teams to ensure that reports meet the needs of the organization and comply with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or within a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in report development, with a focus on healthcare reporting in Epic EHR systems.
Experience with Epic’s Reporting Workbench, Radar, Caboodle and Clarity is required.
Proficiency in SQL, and knowledge of programming language.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

Relevant certifications in Epic Reporting preferred
Experience in lieu of education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy custom reports and dashboards within the Epic EHR system using Epic’s reporting tools such as Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer using Caboodle and Clarity data sources.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for report development. Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Work closely with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, administrators, and IT teams, to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
Identify and resolve issues related to Epic reports and data discrepancies. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for report specifications, development processes, and user guides.
Ensure reports comply with industry regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
Stay current with updates and best practices related to Epic reporting tools. Recommend and implement enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
