Business Intelligence Developer III
About The Position
This position is a key independent contributor and member of the System Data & Analytics team in Digital. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle engineering of the department's semantic infrastructure. This role requires the exercise of discretion to determine the appropriate modeling strategy—choosing between Import, DirectQuery, or Direct Lake modes—to balance performance with data freshness. The ideal candidate moves fluidly between managing legacy SSAS partitions and architecting modern Microsoft Fabric semantic models using engineering tools like Tabular Editor/ALM Toolkit. This role operates with minimal oversight, defining the governance and security logic for their domain. Technical professional with advanced DAX and SQL and expert in semantic models (SSAS tabular model) and Reporting (Power BI).
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI and DAX
- Advanced Knowledge of SQL
- Advanced knowledge of SSAS Tabular Models
- Advanced knowledge of database programming and statistics
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- 5 years recent relevant experience.
- Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the full lifecycle engineering of the department's semantic infrastructure.
- Determine the appropriate modeling strategy—choosing between Import, DirectQuery, or Direct Lake modes—to balance performance with data freshness.
- Manage legacy SSAS partitions and architect modern Microsoft Fabric semantic models using engineering tools like Tabular Editor/ALM Toolkit.
- Define the governance and security logic for their domain.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, IS team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
- Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify relevant concerns and factors.
- Perform a variety of duties and often change from one task to another of a different nature with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
- Develop documentation at a technical and user level.
