We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer II to build and maintain Power BI reports and production reporting processes for the Value-Based Care Solutions (VBCS) engineering organization. This role supports multiple product teams by transforming CMS public data, clinical assessment data, and payment data into reports and dashboards for clients to measure quality and manage value-based care programs. The role involves owning the day-to-day development and upkeep of Power BI reports, from data model design to published report, and contributing to BI development and documentation practices. You will also run production reporting processes using Azure Data Factory and Databricks, improve data structures, and work closely with Software Engineers and Product Owners, applying standard BI principles. AI tooling is the default starting point for building reports, models, and pipelines.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence or data engineering.
Strong, current, hands-on Power BI development experience: data modeling, DAX, Power Query, workspace and refresh management.
Experience building and maintaining Azure Data Factory pipelines.
Familiarity with Databricks (running and maintaining notebooks, working in Repos).
Strong SQL against relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar), including query tuning.
Working knowledge of BI data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models for internal and client-facing use, with maintainable DAX and Power Query optimized for performance and usability.
Follow and help document the team's Power BI development practices, including workspace organization, refresh management, and performance patterns.
Use AI tooling as the default starting point for report and model development, and validate output against source data and business intent before release.
Run production reporting processes: ingest data updates, run and monitor existing Azure Data Factory pipelines and Databricks notebooks, validate outputs, and deliver reports on schedule.
Build and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines; adapt them when upstream data sources change.
Manage source control and pull requests in Azure DevOps and prepare pipeline changes for production deployment.
Design, maintain, and improve SQL tables, views, and datasets that follow BI best practices: dimensional modeling, consistent naming, and appropriate grain.
Validate report and data accuracy against source systems before release; troubleshoot issues within established pipelines and reports, identify root cause, and recommend fixes.
Document processes, runbooks, and data definitions, and support standing client report deliverables as required.
Complete moderately complex reporting and pipeline projects with general guidance and defined priorities.
Work in an Agile/Scrum process alongside Software engineers and Product owners; participate in sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and peer reviews of BI deliverables.
Partner with Product and Account Management to understand reporting requirements and translate them into BI deliverables.
