About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for working with various data to identify possible problems and efficiency issues, recommend conclusions, and interpret and write statistical report narratives. This role involves developing and applying consistent standards to detect problems with data presentations, creating graphs and longitudinal flowcharts, and gathering, reading, interpreting, and maintaining data for analytical purposes, policy decisions, and business operations. The analyst will also communicate complex information to nontechnical audiences, develop functional and technical specifications for data analysis, analyze large complex data sets to identify trends, write clear and concise reports, and provide technical support to end users of the database. The position requires knowledge in data systems creation methods, software applications for monitoring data, statistical and business analysis, division's current data systems (FOCUS, OnBase), database management, data acquisition strategies, data management, quality, use, and application, and applicable laws, rules, and policies regarding security, privacy, and management of confidential data. Additionally, knowledge of IT lifecycle and preventative disease and vaccination surveillance system design, operation, and maintenance, as well as qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing program/project efficacy and project management disciplines, is expected.

Requirements

  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Google, Focus, Excel, Visio, OnBase and other data management programs.
  • Knowledge in data systems creation methods, software applications used to monitor and review data.
  • Knowledge in statistical and business analysis.
  • Knowledge in the division's current data systems, including FOCUS, OnBase, as well as knowledge and experience using databases, including creating simple databases and queries.
  • Knowledge in strategies for achieving effective data acquisition.
  • Knowledge in management, quality, use and application of data.
  • Knowledge in applicable laws, rules, policies regarding security, privacy, and management of confidential data.
  • Knowledge in IT lifecycle and preventative disease and vaccination surveillance system design, operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge in qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring program/project efficacy; project management disciplines and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Skills in computational evaluations, such as summations, means, proportions, rates, and other statistical methods used to evaluate the internal and external consistency of aggregated statistical tabulations.
  • Analytical software (SAS (Statistical Analysis System) & R).
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g., SAS & R, Tableau and SQL).
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skills in providing technical assistance to business partners.
  • Capacity to work with various data and to identify possible problems, efficiency issues and recommend conclusions from that data.
  • Ability to interpret and write statistical report narratives.
