Embedded in a small team, the role provides cyber advisory services, executes cybersecurity work aligned with business units, and delivers metrics and cyber-driven content to support business decision-making. Responsibilities span information security and risk management, cyber incident and response management, cyber controls analysis, and cyber reporting. The BISO acts as a trusted advisor, change agent, and thought leader. The role builds trust with senior executives through information and transparency, presents technical and business details to senior leadership, and influences adoption of cyber controls to reduce residual risk. The BISO performs application-, platform-, and system-level cyber risk assessments and recommends protections that strengthen cybersecurity and incident-response preparedness. Practitioner-level depth is expected in at least five security domains. Global Cybersecurity manages cyber risk across State Street entities by providing actionable insights and supporting the firm's cyber risk culture. The BISO function embeds security within the business and serves as a conduit between Global Cybersecurity and business units, advising on policy, standards, and control compliance and promoting cyber awareness. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement according to location, with working hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time and off-hours on-call coverage as needed. The annual salary range is $120,000 to $202,500 for the primary location; the range may differ for other locations.
