The attorney guides clients through employment-based immigration matters, owning cases from handoff through final submission. The role may involve a range of matters or specialization in areas such as H-1B, L-1A/B, TN, E-1/E-2/E-3, O-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, and PERM labor certification. Clients range from funded startups to large enterprises, with matter complexity and autonomy varying by experience. The attorney may advise prospects in a strategic consulting capacity, assessing case viability and setting clear expectations, and/or manage production matters through their lifecycle. Responsibilities include advising clients on petition strategy, RFE responses, and compliance; managing employer accounts, HR contacts, and deadlines; and coordinating with paralegals on documentation and filing logistics. Manifest’s AI tools support case quality and efficiency as a performance multiplier. The firm operates remotely, uses flat fees rather than billable hours, and offers competitive compensation with incentives tied to client outcomes and firm performance. Attorneys’ feedback and case experience inform the evolution of the firm’s technology and practice.

Requirements

J.D. and active U.S. bar admission.
Strong working knowledge of employment-based immigration, including NIV and IV matters; examples include H-1B, L-1A/B, TN, E-3, O-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, and PERM labor certification.
Clear, confident communication and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language.
Ability to support HR contacts and beneficiaries effectively.
Strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, thorough documentation, and clean handoffs.
Comfort working in a high-cadence environment with real volume expectations.

Nice To Haves

For Associate level (0–3 years): hands-on employment-based case experience; paralegal, clinic, or immigration law-clerk background is a plus.
For Mid-Senior Level Associate (4–7 years): experience with high-volume employment-based cases such as H-1B, PERM, and/or intracompany transfers; comfort working directly with HR contacts; proactive ownership approach.
For Senior Associate (8+ years): deep expertise across employer immigration, ability to serve as a strategic advisor to client HR and Legal leadership, and drive toward practice leadership.

Responsibilities

Own immigration matters from handoff through final submission, developing legal strategy and managing milestones.
Handle a variety of employment-based immigration matters or focus on a specialty, including H-1B, L-1A/B, TN, E-1/E-2/E-3, O-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, and PERM labor certification.
Assess prospective clients’ cases, build trust, and set honest, clear expectations.
Manage client relationships throughout the case and coordinate with paralegals on document collection, organization, and filing logistics.
Advise clients on petition strategy, RFE responses, and compliance obligations.
Manage high-volume employer accounts, HR contacts, and deadlines.
Use Manifest’s AI tools and technology to support case quality and efficiency.
