Ignite Digital Services (IDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Financial Manager (BFM) Support role in Chesapeake VA. We are seeking a Business Financial Manager with a strategic mindset and leadership presence to assist in financial planning, execution, and reporting for the NIWC Atlantic Fleet Installation and Readiness Division. This role requires a seasoned professional who balances leading financial forecasting efforts, guiding decision-making with data-driven insights, and collaborating effectively across functional and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of federal regulations and policies including FIAR.
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial management, including experience supporting NIWC or IT programs.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities; comfort with pivot tables, financial models, and scenario planning.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with financial systems and data integration tools (e.g., ERP systems, Business Intelligence platforms).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to translate technical or operational risks into financial language.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams with a high level of autonomy.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD SECRET clearance (preferred) or the ability to obtain one.
  • DAWIA FM Certification
  • Familiarity with Qlik or similar reporting tools

Responsibilities

  • Accountable and responsible for the SC business, resource, and financial management functions, and will ensure appropriation laws, regulations, and Command business rules are followed within the SC
  • Execute reviews by performing research as required to each applicable Tri-annual line item (accountable for BEV certification at the IPT Level)
  • Advisor in building/organizing projects, and provide review of SC budgets, and to ensure all Command business rules for NERP projects and data tagging are executed accurately
  • Use standard financial practices and proven best practice techniques to manage financial data and analysis and ensure accuracy and completeness for the SC
  • Apply various analytical techniques to evaluate fiscal health, prepare reports and analysis and provide recommendations to the SC LBFM
  • Work to develop strategies for current/future requirements for SCs
  • Interact cooperatively with other competencies in executing SC BFM functions
  • Attend SC and 1.0 BFM team meetings to share strategies and lessons learned
