About The Position

Provide financial planning and risk support within the conduct of daily treasury activities with moderate level of independence. Proactively address business needs to ensure effective administration of Energy Northwest’s cash management, investment and debt monitoring, banking operations, and business insurance program.

Requirements

  • Business Financial Analyst II Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field, and 3 years of industrial level experience working with treasury/financial/accounting/budgeting/risk.
  • OR AA degree and 5 years of industrial level experience working with treasury/financial/accounting/budgeting/risk.
  • OR in lieu of degree, a high school diploma or GED and 7 years of industrial level experience working with treasury/financial/accounting/budgeting/risk.
  • Business Financial Analyst I Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • OR AA degree and 2 years of industrial level experience working with treasury/financial/accounting/budgeting/risk.
  • OR in lieu of degree, a High school diploma or GED and 4 years of industrial level experience working with treasury/financial/accounting/budgeting/risk.
  • This is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Cash Management Investment Functions. For daily cash investments, provide support and advice in which investment instruments are to be purchased, establish the best price, confirm with brokers details of trades and initiate TMS investment tickets.
  • Support strategic structuring and restructuring of Energy Northwest’s investment portfolios through planning, analysis, and execution of investment strategy.
  • Support settlement of transactions by utilizing investment software and working directly with investment brokers and banks.
  • Ensure cash management activities are input, approved, and appropriately assigned to the general ledger.
  • Assist in the validation of all cash, investment, and debt activity is reconciled with internal software programs, bank applications, and general ledger.
  • Perform debt management and analysis for semi-annual debt payment requirements.
  • Prepare and/or input all current debt service transactions for approval by the Treasury Management.
  • Maintain outstanding debt service databases and reporting systems and provide, as needed, debt service information.
  • Provide support and analysis for development and oversee a system to manage and track unclaimed bond debt service funds held by the system.
  • Support settlement of transactions by utilizing banking software and working directly with trustees.
  • Perform direct activities in support of Treasury and Business Planning functions for the development, understanding and implementation of specific issues or projects.
  • Provide analysis of complete financial and operational issues, recommend solutions, and provide implementation strategies.
  • Support banking/trustee operations by assisting Treasury Management, and helping staff resolve daily problems.
  • Coordinate and/or perform activities needed to research, develop, and implement electronic communication interfaces with banks, trustees, brokers, and other outside vendors in Treasury Management.
  • Support in the oversight of the agency’s business insurance program. Including, the development of risk assessments and implementation of renewal strategies, while monitoring program effectiveness and deployment of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist the System Administrator for the Treasury Management System (TMS), Kyriba Cash System (CCS), Warrant Redemption System (WRS) and other Treasury systems and processes.
  • Assist in upgrading of systems when required; trouble-shooting problems, designing and implementing reports; and maintaining interfaces with other systems.
  • Perform analysis and system summaries for inclusion in the annual Audited Financial Statements, Monthly Treasury Services Report, and other publications.
  • Must participate on the Emergency Response Team (ERO) when designated.
  • Must support the biennial refueling outage when designated.
