About The Position

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut is seeking driven individuals to join us in our mission to help others and serve our local communities. As a Business Engagement Associate, you will have a key role in connecting participants with meaningful employment opportunities that align with their skills, abilities, interests, and goals as identified in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs). This position is responsible for developing and maintaining employer partnerships, identifying new job opportunities, and promoting Goodwill’s Human Services employment programs to the business community. The Business Engagement Associate serves as a primary liaison between participants, employment services staff, and employers to support successful job placement, retention, and long-term employment outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and manage follow-through in a timely, accurate, and transparent manner.

Responsibilities

  • Meet established placement goals and objectives as assigned.
  • Identify and develop community-based job sites that align with each participant’s needs, abilities, interests, and preferences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with area employers willing to support participant work experiences and employment opportunities.
  • Educate employers on Goodwill’s employment services, including direct placement, trial work experiences, assessments, working interviews, job shadows, informational interviews, and on-the-job training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with employment services team members to review caseloads, participant goals, and appropriate job-site matches.
  • Follow up with employers after placement to evaluate job match, support retention, and ensure employer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable CARF standards, including required service documentation.
  • Submit monthly placement and retention reports for departmental tracking and reporting.
  • Seek input from participants, family members, support networks, counselors, and team members when providing services.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Maintain accurate participant files and protect participant privacy in accordance with HIPAA requirements. This position may access participant Protected Health Information (PHI) as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, professional development programs, conferences, and related activities as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
