About The Position

The Business Development Specialist assists commercial customers in implementing the best solutions for their moving,  storage, and logistics needs. This role conducts cold calls, follows up on leads, builds relationships with customers and  establishes networks with industry specialists. This position uses their knowledge of the company, its products, and  services to look for new ways to improve product quality, build existing offerings and to write business proposals to  outline ideas to senior executives.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing up to 80 calls per day
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced sales and/or customer service environment
  • History of successfully meeting or exceeding targets/quotas
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • PC proficiency with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Excellent sales skills to generate leads
  • Ability to maintain strong client relationships and establish industry partnerships.
  • Competency in negotiating and closing business deals.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous experience as a Business Development Specialist in a related industry.
  • Knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of moving/storage or logistics industry is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, negotiate, and sign on new accounts through direct contact, word-of-mouth, and collaboration with the  marketing department.
  • Effectively manage high-volume inbound commercial sales calls from prospective clients.
  • Provide information, answer questions, and offer various company products and services.
  • Developing client relationships and strengthening industry partnerships.
  • Leverage consultive sales approach to meet daily, weekly, and monthly call and sales targets.
  • Identifying new clients by researching and creating networking opportunities.
  • Familiarizing yourself with all products and services offered by the company in order to provide information and  answer questions about various services offered by the company.
  • Mange existing customers and increase revenue by cultivating new accounts, cultivating new opportunities, and  fostering loyalty with long-term recurring customers to ensure the business is retained
  • Negotiating and closing business deals that promote sustained revenue.
  • Liaising with Sales, Marketing, and Management to align strategies aimed at increasing revenue.
  • Assessing and advising on potential joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.
