About The Position

Steer offers a suite of software tools for today's automotive repair shop, combining essential software tools into one user-friendly, cost-effective platform to help shop owners focus on profitability and customer retention. Steer began as an online directory and has evolved into a complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing suite. In August 2024, Steer acquired AutoOps, a leader in scheduling software for auto repair shops. This role is focused on building and scaling Steer's outbound sales motion by uncovering new business opportunities, facilitating product demos, and guiding customers through the sales process. The position requires creating opportunities from scratch, navigating organizations, and developing messaging for small business owners in blue-collar industries. Steer emphasizes skill cultivation, career advancement, and talent retention. This is a hybrid role that starts with a three-month onsite ramp-up in Waltham, MA, after which a hybrid schedule may be available upon meeting performance metrics.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of sales experience, specifically in outbound prospecting or business development.
  • Proven Track Record: A history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and activity metrics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with comfort in phone-based outreach.
  • Experience performing product demonstrations and consultations.
  • Ability to commute to the Waltham, MA office.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the automotive industry, home services, or blue-collar sectors.
  • Experience selling software or working in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Experience using CRM tools (like HubSpot or Salesforce) to manage opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a high volume of calls and outreach to identify and engage decision-makers and economic buyers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the SaaS product and its features to effectively communicate value during online product demos.
  • Employ a consultative approach to understand prospects' needs and tailor presentations to their specific pain points.
  • Maintain meticulous records of sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM to ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Qualify opportunities and collaborate closely with the broader sales team on strategy and deal progression.
