About The Position

Citi's Commercial Bank is looking for a Business Development Specialist at the AVP level to drive new client acquisition and expand wallet share across all industry verticals within the US market. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert across Citi's full suite of Treasury Solutions — including Cash Management, Cards, and Trade — partnering closely with global Sales and Coverage teams to identify and convert high-value opportunities. Your ability to build client relationships and translate complex treasury needs into tailored solutions will directly shape the growth trajectory of one of Citi's most dynamic banking businesses.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial banking or a closely related financial services field, with direct exposure to treasury or cash management solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver best-in-class treasury proposals that are client-specific, commercially sound, and competitively positioned.
• Strong analytical capability, with hands-on proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to support data-driven client engagements and executive-level presentations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts and engage effectively with clients, partners, and senior stakeholders.
• Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive initiatives through to completion without close supervision.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Familiarity with innovations and emerging technologies shaping the corporate treasury landscape, including fintech disruptors and digital payment platforms.
• Experience working with early-stage or high-growth companies across disruptor verticals, with an understanding of their distinct treasury and liquidity challenges.
• Ability to leverage digital channels, virtual communities, and social media to extend reach and build market presence in support of business development goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead new business development efforts by engaging prospective clients across all industry verticals, diagnosing their treasury needs, and proposing tailored Citi solutions that address their operational and financial objectives.
• Act as the primary Treasury Solutions resource for the Commercial Bank in the US, contributing expert insight to pipeline reviews and sales strategy discussions across the broader banking team.
• Develop and convert cross-sell opportunities in close collaboration with global Sales and Coverage Partners, with accountability for delivering an individual new revenue goal of $1 million annually.
• Build and maintain a strong network across Citi's global branch footprint to support client needs and unlock business opportunities from foreign, multi-national companies.
• Analyze client trends across liquidity, payments, working capital, and treasury technology to shape compelling, market-relevant proposals and presentations.
• Track and report monthly win/loss performance, maintaining accurate pipeline data to inform sales planning and business decisions.
• Champion a culture of responsible finance, sound governance, and ethical business conduct in all client and internal interactions.
