About The Position

Brown & Brown is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our growing team in Milwaukee, WI. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about sales, relationship building, and business development. Through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, you will develop the skills necessary to build a successful career while helping drive growth across our Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty practices. As a Business Development Representative, you will partner closely with Producers and sales leaders to identify new business opportunities, engage prospective clients, generate qualified leads, and develop a strong pipeline of opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, prospecting, building relationships, and contributing directly to business growth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to develop a career in sales and business development.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to confidently engage prospective clients and build rapport.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain an insurance license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 1+ years of business development, sales, customer service, prospecting, or lead generation experience.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and sales prospecting tools.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and strategic outreach initiatives.
  • Research prospective clients and conduct needs analyses to uncover business challenges and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers through phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person interactions.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and Producers.
  • Partner with Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty sales teams to develop targeted prospecting strategies.
  • Facilitate sales calls and provide Producers with qualified lead information.
  • Leverage CRM systems, sales tools, and market intelligence platforms to generate leads and manage prospect activity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect, pipeline, and activity information within CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless prospect and client experience.
  • Consistently meet or exceed activity, appointment-setting, and pipeline development goals.
  • Attend training opportunities to remain current on industry trends, products, coverages, legislation, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Represent Brown & Brown professionally at networking events, industry functions, and community engagements.
