The Business Development Representative plays a critical role in driving pipeline growth by generating and qualifying new logo opportunities for Account Executives. Business Development Reps are responsible for identifying target personas, initiating outreach, and engaging prospects in meaningful conversations that uncover business needs aligned to the DataRobot GenAI applications and platform capabilities. This role requires close collaboration with Account Executives and Marketing to convert early interest into qualified discovery meetings.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to business and technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage outbound prospecting campaigns and qualify early-stage opportunities
  • Curiosity and critical thinking mindset — able to connect customer pain points to relevant GenAI use cases
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo)
  • Passion for technology, sales, and learning in a fast-paced environment
  • 1+ years of sales or prospecting experience; SaaS or enterprise technology experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and Qualify New Leads: Research and identify high-potential accounts and buying groups; engage target personas across business and technical functions to assess fit for DataRobot’s GenAI solutions. Craft compelling pitches tailored to the needs and pain points of each account.
  • Outbound Engagement & Multi-Channel Execution: Execute outbound outreach via email, phone, social platforms, and event follow-up to generate interest and schedule discovery calls with Account Executives.
  • Discovery Readiness & Hand-Offs: Qualify interest and intent of accounts; seamlessly transition leads to Account Executives with clear context and opportunity alignment.
  • Pipeline Coverage & Activity Targets: Maintain target volumes of outreach activity, meeting creation, and conversion; support consistent pipeline generation to meet territory goals.
  • CRM and Tool Hygiene: Accurately track engagement activity, lead status, and notes in Salesforce and other sales tools to ensure visibility and enable performance analysis.
