About The Position

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is seeking a Business Development Manager for the greater Austin area. This role is crucial for building client and community relationships, winning work, and cultivating culture. The position requires relevant experience in the healthcare market and the ability to build relationships with healthcare owners, partners, and industry stakeholders. The manager will lead regional community relationships, identify events and associations for partnership, and oversee the regional proposal interview process. This role also involves developing, implementing, and improving regional business development, pursuit, and client engagement processes. A strong understanding of the construction and design industry, particularly with healthcare clients and projects, is essential for effectively communicating Bartlett Cocke’s value. The role reports to the Central Texas Regional VP and is guided by the BD Director.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B experience in AEC marketing and/or business development, with meaningful experience supporting the healthcare market.
  • Established relationships within the Central Texas healthcare ecosystem strongly preferred, including relationships with healthcare owners, health systems, architects, engineers, program managers, consultants, or other industry influencers.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving business development, pursuit, marketing, or operational processes.
  • Working knowledge of construction, design, preconstruction, and/or project delivery processes; experience within a construction, design, engineering, or related AEC environment required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Texas healthcare construction market and the business, operational, and facility priorities that influence healthcare capital projects.
  • Experience developing and executing healthcare client strategies, account plans, market strategies, or pursuit strategies preferred.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, with an emphasis on guiding and motivating teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of regional nuances.
  • Ability to align personal goals with broader company vision and values.
  • Ability to regularly travel throughout the greater Austin area.
  • Ability to periodically travel throughout Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Build new relationships within the region and nurture existing ones, ensuring each connection is meaningful and aligned with our values, culture, and goals.
  • Maintain a particular focus on developing relationships within the healthcare market, including health systems, hospitals, physician and specialty-care organizations, healthcare developers, program managers, architects, engineers, consultants, and other key decisionmakers and influencers.
  • Lead and strategize regional community engagement, identifying and connecting with pertinent events, associations, and organizations that provide meaningful access to healthcare owners, influencers, and strategic partners.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of regional BD and pursuit processes, ensuring each opportunity supports our commitment to quality and community.
  • Draw strategy and support from the corporate BD function, ensuring regional efforts align with the broader company vision and supporting a collaborative BD team across all regions.
  • Manage the regional proposal interview process, assist the development of digital assets for presentations, and cultivate winning strategies that engage project owners and end users.
  • Monitor BD processes and strategies across regions, ensuring our growth is both purposeful and impactful.
  • Direct and mentor the Regional Proposals Manager, ensuring their work is aligned with regional BD objectives and guiding them in crafting effective proposals.
  • Work closely with regional Project Executives, Preconstruction leaders, and project teams, fortifying client relationships and enriching the proposal development process internally and for our clients.
