About The Position

The Business Development Manager role for Veolia Nuclear Solutions - Federal Services (Veolia) focuses on capturing government and commercial contracts across the US. As a key member of the business development team, you will lead the identification, pursuit, and capture of high-value federal contracts. You will own the full sales lifecycle from market research to proposal submittal and client interactions and final contracts, collaborating closely with engineering, technology, and finance to craft winning proposals. The Business Development Manager focus is to identify key pursuits that support business line growth, develop a strategy and follow through all aspects to provide a compliant, comprehensive and compelling proposals to a variety of federal and commercial clients. As part of a larger Business Development team, this position serves as a capture manager and serves as a client manager for strategic accounts. In addition, they participate in key conferences to further business relationships. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development and/or client account management.
  • Knowledge of Business Development best practices.
  • Willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in capture of both federal contracting and commercial clients is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and track federal opportunities (DOW, DOE, prime contractors, commercial nuclear providers, and other federal and state agencies) to grow the Veolia business pipeline.
  • Utilize industry research tools to gather background research and customer intelligence.
  • Develop bid strategy and promote Veolia capabilities across markets.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for client decision-makers and teaming partner capture managers.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with key government officials, prime contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and prioritize customer lists and outreach strategies.
  • Lead presentations internally as well as at industry events to promote Kiewit culture and brand.
  • Represent the company at industry events and trade organization function.
  • Monitor and report on competitive strategies, technical developments, and market dynamics.
  • Maintain a leadership presence in the nuclear and technology marketplace.
  • Collaborate with Veolia North America to ensure cohesive messaging and exposure.
  • Review and analyze commercial and U.S. government solicitations (Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quote (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), etc.) and align proposal responses accordingly.
  • Serve as capture manager and work with proposal manager to lead proposal meetings, assign tasks, and set deadlines to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Develop detailed proposal schedule and ensure adherence to all deadlines.
  • Work with Pricing Manager to develop competitive price proposals, BOE’s and cost narrative.
  • Promote Veolia across business lines and work with other business units to establish additional business pipeline.
  • Learn and promote Veolia technology to federal and commercial customers.
  • Support other members of the proposal team and business development staff on other proposal efforts as required and appropriate.
