Business Unit/Department: Skid Technologies Location: Monessen, PA Job Summary: As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for researching, identifying, and closing new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, new customers, new partnerships etc. to achieve revenue and profit growth for ECI’s overall skid business unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of combines sales, account management, and project experience
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Results driven – proactive and persistent
  • Strong organizations skills and experience using CRM tools to manage opportunities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites, engineering offices, trader shows, and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Industry and Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of engineered piping systems. Familiarity with engineering drawings, isometrics, pips specifications, flow/pressure considerations and fabrication process. Ability to translate technical requirements into clear project proposals.
  • Proven business development and sales expertise: Demonstrated success selling engineering products and solutions or construction related solutions. Experience engaging early in the project lifecycle to influence specifications and secure bid opportunities. Proven track record of achieving revenue targets through consultative, solution focused selling.
  • Strong strategic thinking & market awareness: Understand markets segments such as oil & gas, energy, water/wastewater, data centers, mining, and industrial process piping. Able to identify emerging opportunities, evaluate competitive pressures, and recommend growth strategies.
  • Exceptional relationship builder: Well-connected with engineers, consultants, facility managers, and construction contractors. Skilled at long-cycle, relationship driven sales typical of infrastructure and industrial projects. Ability to build trust through responsiveness, product expertise, and reliability. Excels at working with internal engineering, estimating, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate project details.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills: Provides clear feedback from the field to improve product offerings and project execution. Comfortable delivering technical presentations to engineering teams, project stakeholders, and facility operators. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close complex deals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business/market opportunities: Conduct marker research to identify potential clients, industries, and growth opportunities for Skidtech. Evaluate project trends, engineering specifications, and competitor offerings to target high-value opportunities.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies: Create and execute strategic plans to achieve sales goals and market expansion goals. Collaborate with leadership to align business development initiatives with company objectives.
  • Build and maintain client & contractor relationships: Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders. Establish and maintain relationships with engineers, EPC firms and contractors. Collaborate with consultants and specifying engineers to position company products in projects specifications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with business development and account managers, as well as ECI vertical leaders to identify Skidtech opportunities and support client needs. Provide feedback to internal teams on market insights and client requirements.
