About The Position

We are seeking a bold and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to spearhead growth in the Tampa market. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is for someone who thrives on building momentum, taking ownership of results, and pushing hard to expand our presence across commercial, municipal, healthcare, higher education, and developer-driven portfolios. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where confidence, vision, and a relentless drive for outcomes are essential.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of business development experience, with at least 3-5 years in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of generating and closing new business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of municipal, healthcare, higher education, and commercial construction markets in the Tampa area.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and drive results in a competitive market.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • High sense of urgency, self-starter mindset, and strategic thinker with a focus on execution.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, with a primary focus on the Tampa market.

  • Established relationships within the local development and construction industry are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across targeted sectors.
  • Develop and execute medium-term strategies to drive growth, visibility, and competitive advantage.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and client needs—using insight to make decisive moves.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with developers, public and private sector leaders, and industry partners.
  • Elevate Foresight’s presence in Tampa through active networking, strategic community involvement, and direct engagement.
  • Maintain consistent, results-focused follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and uncover new opportunities.
  • Partner closely with preconstruction, operations, and executive teams to ensure business development aligns with company goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing to sharpen proposals, pitches, and presentations that win.
  • Represent Foresight with confidence at industry events, conferences, and professional associations.
  • Lead the charge on RFQs, RFPs, and pursuit strategies—driving the process with urgency and precision.
  • Streamline and manage pursuits for maximum efficiency and win rate.
