About The Position

At Koley Jessen, business development is relationship-driven—and execution matters. The Business Development Manager helps turn attorney-led conversations, events, and market activity into consistent follow-through, visibility, and momentum. This role is the operational backbone for growth: preparing attorneys to show up well, ensuring next steps don’t slip, keeping CRM data clean and actionable, and surfacing opportunity signals that help the firm deepen relationships and expand client work.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or similar.
  • 4–7 years of business development, client development, sales enablement, account management, or marketing/BD operations experience in a professional services environment
  • Strong organization, communication skills, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with sound judgment
  • Experience supporting business development, client development, or sales enablement (professional services preferred)
  • Confidence working with attorneys and senior leaders in a fast-paced environment
  • CRM fluency and comfort with data, dashboards, and turning insights into action
  • A proactive mindset—anticipating needs, removing friction, and driving next steps
  • Excellent communication skills (briefings, meeting plans, action recaps, and follow-up coordination)

Responsibilities

  • Execute pre- and post-event playbooks for attorney-led sales activities and firm conferences/sponsorships
  • Prepare briefing materials, target lists, and meeting plans to support attorney outreach
  • Coordinate and track follow-ups, introductions, and touchpoints to ensure timely execution
  • Maintain active lists and outreach support for intermediaries (investment bankers, sponsors, accountants, and other referral sources)
  • Support relationship programs such as lunch & learns, meetings, and hosted events
  • Execute shareholder transition strategies and help drive client team meetings (agendas, actions, cadence)
  • Own CRM (Nexl) execution and hygiene; ensure activity and opportunity data is accurate and usable
  • Monitor internal signals and other indicators to surface BD opportunities to attorneys and leadership
  • Track activity → opportunity → revenue influence; maintain dashboards and support leadership reporting/scorecards
  • Help evaluate technology capabilities and work with team to identify and implement improvements
