Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business or chemical discipline is required.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales in the Chemical Industry is required.
A minimum of 3 years' of experience in sales of services for gas cylinder maintenance.
Working knowledge of products, markets and applications is required.
Demonstrations of previous sales growth experience.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to communicate sound ideas and solutions intelligently to all facets of a customer organization.
Changes in technology, applications and sales trends require the individual to strive to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current technology and strong business acumen.
Position requires excellent selling, teamwork, negotiation, organizational, communication and computer skills.
Individual must be a self-starter with a positive attitude.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is required for this role.
Requires a highly driven individual with experience in closing business sales in a timely manner.
Must work effectively in a dynamic work environment.
Strong knowledge and previous application of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Adobe software.
Must have sufficient mobility to access all areas of customer plant sites as well as the Alexander Chemical Plant areas.
This will involve climbing/descending ladders and stairways.
Repeated physical motions will be required in performing duties.
Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.
Requires the individual to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and use a desktop and cellular phone consistently throughout the day.
Requires the individual to walk distances inside and outside of customer facilities for onsite meetings.
Required to wear personal protective equipment in the plant environment, which may include an escape respirator, hard hat, safety glasses and safety footwear.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and experience with eChempax or a similar industry specific CRM system is preferred.

Responsibilities

Developing new product and service sales business within compressed gas cylinder maintenance across the United States, while also maintaining the current customer account base through the development of relationships.
Develop opportunities to cross-sell products and services to new and current customers with the ACS division of the business.
Communicating to supervisor and territory team all field intelligence, competitive trends and most current information regarding field sales projects and sales opportunities.
Develop a working knowledge of Alexander Chemical Corporation product and service lines.
Ability to work within all levels of a customer organization, including but not limited to Executive Leadership, Purchasing, Plant Managers, Customer Service, and Plant Operations.
Responsible for developing new business in assigned markets and territories to achieve profitable growth within the cylinder maintenance service department.
Maintains all customers within the assigned territory/service.
Works in conjunction with Inside Sales and Bids team to investigate and acquire any intelligence required to make decisions on bid pricing and contract extensions for bid accounts within the territory.
Collaborates with supervisor to establish sales budget and plans for meeting and exceeding sales budget while operating within established expense budget.
Maintains a professional working knowledge of Alexander Chemical Corporation product lines.
Maintains a standard of knowledge of company policies and procedures that support EHSS, Responsible Distributor, and all other aspects of the position, and attends safety training to maintain knowledge and adherence to Alexander Chemical’s EHSS standards.
Develops quotes by obtaining pricing from Pricing Specialist, VP of Sales, or CEO (as needed), and by coordinating with Customer Service and/or Transportation Departments for freight estimates.
Maintains current and accurate CRM database to support customer/sales relationships and activities.
Acts as an ambassador for the use of the CRM and assists other employees in training and knowledge of the CRM capabilities.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
