Business Development Manager

BlueThrone
Remote

About The Position

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who is primarily responsible for generating new leads and converting them into tangible opportunities. This is a hands-on sales role focused on sourcing, researching, contacting, building interest, and qualifying potential acquisition or partnership targets. The role involves managing the entire process from initial lead generation to a warm handoff to the analyst and M&A team, ensuring no lead goes cold and all conversations are meticulously tracked. BlueThrone is a remote-first company that scales mobile apps across various markets and categories, operating as a lean, high-ownership team where execution is prioritized over titles. We foster close collaboration across product, growth, monetization, and engineering to drive significant results.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a pure sales, business development, or outbound-heavy role, ideally with long, self-sourced sales cycles.
  • Highly organized and methodical with a systematic approach to work.
  • Strong hands-on CRM discipline; Pipedrive experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to manage the full A-to-Z process: sourcing, research, outreach, follow-up, and qualification.
  • Thick-skinned, persistent, and comfortable with rejection and silence.
  • Sharp communicator capable of building credibility quickly with founders and executives.
  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy in a remote, async, global team.
  • 2+ years track record of hitting outbound/sourcing targets in a sales or BD role with high-ticket deals.
  • B2B experience is crucial, with the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and build trust in long sales cycles.
  • Experience with cold outbound is a must, including structuring persuasive outbound campaigns that convert to calls.
  • Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours across time zones (primarily Asia-Europe).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and curiosity with mobile apps.
  • Experience working with or for SaaS companies in the mobile app ecosystem.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for meetings, conferences, and events.

Responsibilities

  • Source and research leads (apps, founders, companies) provided by the team and independently identify additional prospects.
  • Identify and find the right point of contact (founder, CEO, decision-maker) through various channels like LinkedIn, email, mutual connections, direct outreach, conferences, or events.
  • Conduct thorough research on each target, understanding their business, traction, and potential fit for acquisition or partnership.
  • Own first contact and all subsequent follow-ups via email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or phone.
  • Build genuine rapport and trust with founders and operators by demonstrating interest in their business and potential exit opportunities.
  • Clearly and credibly represent BlueThrone's acquisition and partnership model.
  • Follow up politely, persistently, and intelligently until a definitive answer is received.
  • Log and manage all leads, conversations, and follow-ups in Pipedrive, maintaining a clean and trackable pipeline.
  • Build and adhere to a systematic cadence for follow-ups to ensure no lead is missed.
  • Report on pipeline health, conversion, and volume to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Qualify interest and fit before handing off leads to the analyst and M&A team.
  • Communicate essential context (company details, discussion points, potential value) for a smooth handoff.
  • Remain involved as the relationship owner through early deal stages to ensure a seamless transition.

Benefits

  • Freedom and results over fixed schedules.
  • Opportunity to work with senior people who care about results.
  • Calm and systematic problem-solving environment.
  • Challenges and opportunities to roll up your sleeves.
