About The Position

Castor Vali is seeking a commercially focused Business Development professional to support the growth of our Security Information Services (SIS) department. This role will focus on developing new business opportunities and expanding client relationships for our intelligence-led products and services, including but not limited to country risk subscription products, market entry assessments, deep dive project assessments, due diligence investigations, and related advisory solutions and research products. Working closely with internal subject matter experts and senior leadership, the successful candidate will engage prospective clients across Africa and international markets, identifying opportunities where Castor Vali’s intelligence capabilities can support organisations operating in complex environments. This is a business development and sales role, where the ideal candidate will have and be able to build strong client relationships across sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, strong proposal and tender writing skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to engage credibly with senior decision-makers. Particular preference will be given to candidates who have worked across African markets and who can demonstrate a strong track record of winning new business, securing strategic partnerships, and converting opportunities into revenue growth. The role will involve proactive business development activities, including outbound engagement, lead generation, account development, and supporting broader strategic growth initiatives for the SIS department.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development
  • Proven track record of supporting sales targets and driving business growth
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in proposal and tender writing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of the security industry and its market dynamics.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and proactive.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of a Security Information Services growth strategy in line with the Group strategic objectives.
  • Drive Security Information Services sales and revenue in line with Group targets and expectations.
  • Identify business opportunities and key service line returns, capitalising on new and existing business opportunities.
  • Support departmental marketing and brand awareness for the Security Information Services line.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key strategic partners and stakeholders.
  • Achieve sustainable recurrent Security Information Service revenue streams for long-term success.
  • Achieve and exceed individual sales, revenue, and business development targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities across target sectors and markets.
  • Secure new clients, strategic partnerships, and repeat business through proactive relationship management.
  • Lead and contribute to successful proposals, tenders, and commercial negotiations.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasting, market insights, and commercially focused recommendations.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through responsive stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities early.
  • Ensure all Salesforce activities, opportunities, pipeline updates, and client engagement records are accurate and up to date.
