The successful candidate will originate and advance opportunities, expand strategic accounts, and work closely with operations personnel to convert customer requirements into practical, executable inspection programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental science, energy management, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • At least five years of progressive business development, technical sales, account management, or commercial experience in energy, utilities, oil and gas, industrial services, environmental services, or inspection services.
  • Demonstrated success originating new opportunities, developing customer relationships, and advancing complex, relationship-driven sales cycles to award.
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta and Western Canadian energy, utility, industrial, or infrastructure markets.
  • Experience communicating with operations leaders, environmental and emissions teams, engineers, procurement personnel, field personnel, and executive decision-makers.
  • Ability to understand technical service offerings and convert customer requirements into clear scopes, commercial proposals, and compelling operational or financial value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, proposal-development, negotiation, and professional follow-through skills.
  • Experience maintaining a structured opportunity pipeline, using customer relationship management tools, and producing credible forecasts and activity reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and collaborate effectively with geographically distributed technical and operational teams.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel frequently throughout Alberta and Western Canada, including overnight and occasional remote-site travel.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada and residence in Alberta; Calgary or Edmonton is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Established relationships within Alberta oil and gas, pipelines, utilities, power generation, landfill, environmental, or industrial markets.
  • Experience with fugitive-emissions management, methane detection or quantification, LDAR programs, optical gas imaging, alternative fugitive-emissions management programs, or related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience selling inspection, engineering, environmental, aviation, remote-sensing, UAS, or other technically specialized field services.
  • Familiarity with Alberta Energy Regulator requirements, including Directive 060, and the operational drivers behind emissions-management and inspection programs.
  • Experience developing recurring inspection programs, multi-site service agreements, master service agreements, or multi-year commercial relationships.
  • Experience working directly with technical field teams to develop scopes of work, project assumptions, schedules, pricing, and customer deliverables.
  • Experience conducting technical demonstrations, supporting pilot programs, developing strategic partnerships, or opening new regional or vertical markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy for Perspectum inspection services across Alberta and Western Canada.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities within upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas, utilities, pipelines, landfills, environmental services, infrastructure, and adjacent industrial markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with operators, environmental and emissions teams, asset-integrity personnel, engineering groups, procurement teams, executives, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Manage the full commercial cycle from prospecting and qualification through solution development, proposal, negotiation, award, and operational handoff.
  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline of qualified opportunities, expected award dates, contract values, decision criteria, competitive position, and clearly documented next actions.
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying additional facilities, regions, service lines, recurring inspection programs, and master service agreement opportunities.
  • Work with operations and technical personnel to define client objectives, field requirements, deliverables, assumptions, schedules, resource needs, and commercially sound pricing.
  • Translate UAS-enabled inspections, optical gas imaging, methane detection and quantification, right-of-way inspection, remote sensing, and related capabilities into clear customer value.
  • Coordinate client demonstrations, pilot projects, proof-of-concept programs, technical presentations, and follow-up activities that support commercial conversion.
  • Lead or support responses to requests for proposals, requests for information, vendor registrations, qualification packages, and competitive bids.
  • Represent Perspectum at client meetings, conferences, trade events, association functions, and other targeted business-development activities.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer feedback, communicate requirements internally, and ensure commercial commitments remain aligned with operational capability and capacity.
