About The Position

Stephen Gould, an 80-year-old company founded on entrepreneurship, is seeking early career talent for its internship programs. These programs offer a well-rounded experience and exposure to products, supply chain solutions, and the packaging industry, providing foundational knowledge for careers in Business, Entrepreneurship, Professional Sales, IT, Packaging, Operations, Supply Chain, Communications, and related disciplines. The specific role is for a Business Development Representative (BDR) Intern, based in the Itasca, IL branch. This intern will focus on prospecting, engaging, and building relationships with potential clients. Key responsibilities include researching prospects, crafting personalized emails, monitoring engagement, and collaborating with the sales team to convert leads. The BDR's ultimate goal is to establish strong communication channels and position Stephen Gould's solutions as tailored answers to clients' challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a variety of tools including LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo and online resources to identify and research potential clients/companies within your territory
  • Leverage your understanding of our company's principles to assess the suitability of identified prospects
  • Compile a detailed list or template with information about each company, including their contact details and background information, which will be crucial for establishing strong communication channels
  • Develop a deep understanding of our sales process by shadowing experienced team members during client interactions and cold calls
  • Craft personalized and compelling email communications to introduce our company's solutions and highlight our value proposition to potential clients
  • Use tools such as Monday.com to monitor email engagement, gauge interest, and pinpoint opportunities for follow-up
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure that qualified leads smoothly transition for further conversion, maintaining a seamless process
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for prospective clients, addressing inquiries and offering information
  • Develop a consultative approach to understanding the clients' needs, crafting our solutions to be tailored to address challenges
  • Adapt to client responses and feedback to ensure engagement is effective and valuable
