About The Position

Spotlight helps ambitious software companies win the analyst coverage that makes them famous. Our Business Development team is responsible for identifying and pursuing the next generation of Spotlight clients — researching prospects, building pipelines, and working alongside Sales and Marketing to bring new relationships to life. As a Business Development Intern, you’ll work closely with those teams to strengthen Spotlight’s prospective client outreach and gain real exposure to how B2B sales and business development work in practice. You’ll develop skills in market research, CRM management, prospecting, and sales communication — all in a fast-moving environment where your work directly contributes to Spotlight’s growth. Interns who perform well have the opportunity to continue with Spotlight part-time or full-time after the program ends.

Requirements

  • Research drive. You enjoy digging into a market, learning about companies, and building a picture of who the right prospect might be. You’re thorough and organized in how you gather and document what you find.
  • Communication confidence. You write clearly, communicate professionally, and are comfortable engaging with different audiences. You’re not afraid to reach out, follow up, or present your work.
  • Collaborative energy. You thrive in a team environment, take ownership of what’s assigned to you, and bring a positive attitude to every project — even the unglamorous ones.
  • You could come from business, marketing, communications, public relations, or any background where curiosity and ambition drive the work.
