About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Directors to drive growth for the executive education programs at Mays Business School. We're driving growth in the Houston market. This role envolves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships with corporations and promoting our customized educational services to C-suite executives and decision-makers. The ideal candidate may have established business connections, an understanding of the executive education and professional learning & development sectors and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience in business development.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales or business development.
  • Sales experience within the education or professional services sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • An understanding of the basics of business, management, and leadership principles.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in selling complex, multi-year service contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential corporate clients and academic institutions through research, networking, and outreach.
  • Develop and implement business development plans to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Create tailored proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals to secure new partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C‑suite leaders, deans, and program managers to understand their learning needs.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events to strengthen brand presence and expand networks.
  • Conduct ongoing research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in executive education.
  • Partner with marketing, program design, and operations teams to align sales efforts and ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Maintain CRM accuracy and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for leadership.
