About The Position

Spotlight Media is a leading TikTok Shop Partner agency focused on scaling brands through custom-built strategies on TikTok Shop. They emphasize a high-agency, entrepreneurial culture where individuals can take ownership and grow quickly. The company believes the future of e-commerce is social and is looking for ambitious individuals to join their team. The Business Development & Content Growth Associate will support the founder directly in sales and content production. This role involves learning the sales process by sitting in on calls, preparing post-call materials, developing sales initiatives, and creating content for LinkedIn and TikTok to generate inbound leads. The ultimate goal is for the associate to transition into running and closing their own deals. This is primarily a sales and content role, where all activities are geared towards winning deals, proving value, and driving leads.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years in sales, business development, or a closely related role, or a clear, demonstrable hunger to build a sales career.
  • Strong, persuasive writing skills, capable of building clean proposals and decks, and writing case studies and founder content that does not read as AI-generated.
  • Comfortable on calls and quick to learn; able to absorb a pitch and start running with it.
  • Organized and proactive; able to manage follow-ups and a content cadence without constant supervision.
  • U.S.-based with native-level English proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling marketing, agency, or SaaS services.
  • Familiarity with TikTok Shop, influencer marketing, beauty, or e-commerce.
  • Track record of growing a personal or brand audience on LinkedIn or short-form video platforms.
  • Light design skills (Canva, Figma).
  • Comfort using AI tools to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support business development by joining sales calls to learn pitching, TikTok Shop strategy, and objection handling.
  • Own post-call material preparation, including proposals, decks, and brand-specific recaps.
  • Build reusable proposal templates and a system for fast, on-brand follow-up.
  • Track the sales pipeline and follow up with prospects to ensure no deal goes cold.
  • Create polished case studies from successful campaigns (GMV results, new initiatives, creator campaigns) to close deals and build credibility.
  • Assist in producing LinkedIn and TikTok content to generate new leads and build a reusable content bank.
  • Build and maintain a library of proof assets and content for the sales team.
  • Conduct outbound outreach to target brands to expand the pipeline and service offering.
  • Help book qualified calls and learn conversion strategies by participating in them.
  • Transition into closing own deals as the role progresses, with commission-based upside.
