Business Development Consultant – Aviation Market (Southeast US) Part-Time, Temporary Role Hanson is seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Business Development Consultant to support growth initiatives within our aviation market in the Southeast US. This role is ideal for a professional with a deep understanding of the aviation industry, strong background in airport management, engineering, planning, program management, and construction management. This role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships and/or partnerships, and driving strategic initiatives that will expand our market presence and solidify our position as an industry leader. Day in the Life of an Aviation Business Development Consultant at Hanson Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role: Leverage existing relationships and identify/target potential clients or partners for new business opportunities in the aviation sector, including airports, government entities, contractors, other consultants, and private sector stakeholders (airlines, airport operators, developers, etc.). Represent Hanson in industry organizations, events, panels, conferences, stakeholder meetings, and other networking functions to strengthen brand presence and support business development. Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including airport authorities, government agencies, aviation industry leaders, and private clients. Develop a deep understanding of their needs and how Hanson’s services can help meet their objectives. Proactively identify new projects, funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, or alternative solutions to provide value to clients in the aviation sector. Support airports with advocacy in securing grants or alternative funding solutions. Provide guidance on stakeholder engagement with local governments, regulatory bodies, airport authorities, and private-sector partners. Support the development of operational strategies, planning documents, and market frameworks related to aviation facilities and supporting infrastructure. Support the development of proposals and presentations to potential clients by working closely with internal teams to ensure the proposals meet client expectations and showcase Hanson’s expertise. What We’re Looking For Skills Proven experience in airport management, aviation development, engineering, planning, program management, and/or construction management. In-depth understanding of the aviation sector, including the unique challenges and opportunities in airport infrastructure, development, and management. Strong professional network within the aviation sector in Florida and the Southeast US. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Soft Skills Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and stakeholder‑management skills. Education/Training Bachelor’s degree in business, airport management, engineering, planning, or a related field. Experience working with state-level transportation departments, airport authorities, municipalities, or economic development agencies.
