About The Position

We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Business Development Consultant to help drive new business opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and support our sales team’s growth. This role is ideal for someone who is confident communicating by phone, text, email, and online chat; enjoys a fast-paced environment; and is motivated by measurable results. As a Business Development Consultant, you will be the first point of contact for many prospective customers. You will respond quickly to leads, identify customer needs, build interest in our products and services, set appointments, and create an exceptional experience from the first interaction through the handoff to the sales team.

Requirements

  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn CRM, phone, and lead-management systems
  • Prior experience in business development, customer service, call-center operations, sales, retail, hospitality, automotive, or appointment setting is preferred—but not required
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive dealership BDC, internet-sales, or customer-service experience
  • Experience using a CRM such as E-leads and Roadster
  • Familiarity with digital lead sources, online vehicle shoppers, and social-media messaging
  • Experience with outbound prospecting, appointment setting, and follow-up campaigns
  • A competitive mindset with a genuine desire to help customers

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inbound internet leads, phone calls, text messages, chat inquiries, and social-media prospects
  • Make outbound calls, send personalized emails and texts, and follow up consistently with prospective and existing customers
  • Qualify leads by learning each customer’s needs, timeline, budget, vehicle or product preferences, and trade-in situation
  • Schedule appointments and confirm attendance through effective follow-up and reminder communication
  • Maintain accurate notes, customer records, tasks, and appointment activity in the CRM
  • Work closely with sales consultants and managers to ensure a smooth handoff and strong customer experience
  • Re-engage unsold prospects, inactive leads, previous customers, and service customers to create new sales opportunities
  • Help execute dealership marketing campaigns, special-event outreach, equity-mining initiatives, and customer-conquest efforts
  • Meet or exceed monthly goals for lead response time, appointments set, appointments shown, outbound activity, and sales opportunities generated
  • Represent the company professionally while delivering a friendly, helpful, and pressure-free customer experience
  • Continuously improve product knowledge, communication skills, objection handling, and CRM best practices
