About The Position

Higgins & Associates, Inc., a multi-disciplined forensic engineering and architecture firm, is seeking a motivated Business Development and Client Relationship Manager to lead new business development and manage client relationships across various verticals. This role involves promoting the firm's capabilities, managing client interactions, generating opportunities, and closing sales. The ideal candidate will be a professional, organized, and driven individual with strong communication skills, capable of understanding and conveying technical concepts while delivering exceptional customer service and meeting sales targets. Familiarity with account management and sales in professional services, along with the ability to articulate value propositions, is essential. A strong desire to learn about forensic engineering and architectural services and their application to client needs is expected. Prior experience in property management, insurance, construction, restoration, architecture, or engineering is a significant benefit.

Requirements

  • At least two years of direct business development and client relationship management experience, ideally in a professional services firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Target-focused with a strong desire to win.
  • Familiarity with managing CRM systems (HubSpot) and email distribution tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while remaining detail and quality focused.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Account Management and Sales in a professional services organization.
  • Strong acumen for articulating value propositions and communicating differentiating factors.

Responsibilities

  • Grasp the nature of engineering and architectural professional services and their relation to client needs.
  • Develop and gain approval for a customer engagement strategy, including monthly marketing and activities plans, pipeline-add goals, and annual sales goals.
  • Perform customer engagement activities such as one-on-one meetings, unannounced visits with promotional materials and refreshments, and planning/conducting promotional events (client learning sessions, dinners, happy hours).
  • Develop tailored sales presentations in PowerPoint for specific clients and projects.
  • Adhere to the sales qualification process to sell projects and meet sales goals.
  • Attend evening/early morning events and out-of-town conferences as needed.
  • Interpret client needs and develop simple proposals using existing templates.
  • Track and manage customer contacts, interactions, and opportunities in a CRM system.
  • Ensure deadlines, sales, and cost targets are met through effective communication and customer management.
  • Follow up on and secure signed sales agreements.
