About The Position

Performs coordinative work in the business or administrative operation of a specific department or college. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a department as well as the monitoring operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise staff or student assistants.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or progressively responsible related experience to equal six (6) years.

Responsibilities

Orders supplies.
Picks up same as necessary for main unit and expansion cell block.
Maintains inventory of capital equipment and repair for main unit and expansion cell block.
Maintains professional relationship with vendors and other departments at unit.
Supervises offender janitors.
Orders, issues, and maintains accountability logs for EMR special order items.
Communicates and coordinates with CMHC IT Department concerning all IT equipment repairs, replacements, and updates.
Maintains sharps and syringe bulk counts and ensures that associated logs are constantly accurate.
Manages the flammable and chemical program.
Manages the Bio-Hazard Program.
Inspects patient care equipment cleaning and functioning.
Communicates and coordinates repair of facility maintenance issues that arise in the medical department clinics and office spaces with TDCJ-Allred unit maintenance department.
Coordinates with TDCJ communication office in Huntsville regarding problems with telephone lines or requests for modifications of existing lines.
Assists in planning, coordinating, directing management functions for the unit.
Supports the goal of the unit by attending meetings and sharing the information with the staff in regular staff meetings.
Responds to request in a timely manner as required.
