About The Position

The City of Chandler Management Services Department, Tax and License Division is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the collection and licensing of Transaction Privilege (sales) and Use taxes by the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR), and the issuance of Business Registrations, as well as special regulatory licenses. The new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking someone that will bring hard work, dedication, and attention to detail with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and innovate with the rest of the Business Compliance Staff. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with business owners to determine City and State compliance, advising businesses about license and registration requirements, educating businesses about Transaction Privilege (sales) tax responsibility, and assisting businesses to establish and maintain compliance. This position involves a combination of office-based and field-based responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of college coursework in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Applications
  • 2 years of experience in sales tax, inspection, or business compliance relating to codes and regulations
  • A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

  • ArcGIS Pro or similar mapping software experience
