About The Position

The Business Banking Underwriter IV is responsible for underwriting Business Banking loans to determine credit worthiness and compliance with Bank lending policy. This role supports Business Banking production by maintaining an individual pipeline of work. The underwriter reviews all financial and credit application information to make sound credit decisions. Loans would typically include those with the most complex credit structures and customer exposure up to $10MM. The position utilizes single approval authority up to $4MM. The underwriter will appropriately assess the risk profile of the borrower, assist with training and mentoring new hires, and provide support for the UWI, UW II & UW III job families as needed. Tasks as needed to support the line of business and job family will be performed. The underwriter will act as primary back up for their manager as needed for team huddles & meetings and is positioned with knowledge and expertise to represent their direct manager outside of the function group as needed. Collaboration with both credit and segment risk is expected to meet or exceed department goals. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years’ experience with business or commercial underwriting in a centralized lending environment

  • 3-4 years leadership / management experience
  • Ability to underwrite credit exposures in excess of $4MM.
  • Previous authority to underwrite and decision credits without additional signers.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other internet resources
  • Excellence in customer service, highly motivated, focused and goal oriented.
