This position is for a Business Banking Relationship Manager who will cultivate, build, and manage relationships with a portfolio of small business clients. The primary goal is to build a pipeline of new business and increase BMO’s market share by applying professional consultative sales and business development practices. The manager will proactively develop and execute sales strategies to attract new business clients, expand existing relationships, and develop internal and external networks and referral sources for ongoing growth. Key aspects include generating appointments, executing business plans for customer retention, identifying prospective customers, and cross-selling products and services. The role requires developing client rapport, instilling confidence, and earning trust as a relationship manager, while understanding the local market and building relationships with centers of influence. The manager will deliver exceptional customer service, provide expertise, and offer responsive support to develop long-term profitable relationships and expand wallet share. This includes answering inquiries, providing accurate information about business banking products, understanding customer needs, and offering suitable financial solutions. The role also involves resolving or escalating issues, developing solutions and recommendations based on business strategy, and providing advice on solution implementation. Furthermore, the manager will break down strategic problems, analyze data for insights, monitor performance, coordinate database management adhering to data governance standards, and lead or participate in change management activities. The position requires input into operational programs, timely and efficient service execution, and support for business program development and promotion. Adherence to security and safeguarding procedures, due diligence in preventing loss due to fraud or money laundering, maintaining confidentiality of customer and Bank information, and identifying and acting on risks are crucial. The role primarily focuses on business/group within BMO, may have broader enterprise-wide focus, involves exercising judgment to solve complex problems independently, and requires taking measured risks within the bank's Risk Management Framework.
