This role involves cultivating, building, and managing relationships with a portfolio of small business clients to grow BMO's market share. The manager applies professional consultative sales and business development practices, identifies opportunities, and refers clients to BMO colleagues. They proactively develop and execute sales strategies to attract new business clients and expand existing relationships, building internal and external networks and referral sources. The position requires generating appointments, developing and executing a business plan for customer retention, identifying prospective customers, and cross-selling additional products and services. It also involves building client rapport, understanding the local market, delivering exceptional customer service, and expanding wallet share within the assigned portfolio. The role includes answering inquiries, providing accurate information about business banking products and services, understanding customer needs, offering financial solutions, and resolving or escalating issues. The manager develops solutions and makes recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs, providing advice and guidance on implementation. They also break down strategic problems, analyze data, monitor performance, coordinate database management, and lead or participate in change management activities. The role includes providing input into operational programs, executing timely service, supporting program development, and adhering to security and safeguarding procedures in accordance with Bank policies and ethical standards. The manager maintains confidentiality, identifies risks, and takes appropriate actions, operating independently on a range of complex tasks within BMO's business group. They are also expected to apply the Risk Management Framework and make sound, risk-informed decisions.
