This role involves cultivating, building, and managing relationships with a portfolio of small business clients to generate new business and increase BMO’s market share. The manager applies professional consultative sales and business development practices, identifies opportunities, and refers clients to BMO colleagues. They are responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to attract new clients and expand existing relationships, building internal and external networks, and generating appointments. The position requires developing and maintaining a business plan with relationship management strategies for customer retention, identifying prospective customers, and cross-selling products. The manager must build client rapport, provide expertise, and understand the local market to develop relationships with centers of influence. They are also expected to resolve or escalate issues, provide advice on solution implementation, and contribute to operational programs. The role involves monitoring performance, managing databases, and leading change management activities. It requires adherence to security and safeguarding procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and identifying and mitigating risks in line with the bank's policies and ethical standards. The focus is primarily on business/group within BMO, with independent work on complex tasks and sound, risk-informed decision-making.
