About The Position

Manages the Business Banking team. Supervises banker's activities to make sure they are achieving overall goals and providing products and services to existing and potential Business Banking clients. This role involves setting goals for loan, deposit, wealth management, and other products and services, ensuring bankers adhere to lending policies and procedures, and keeping staff informed of industry changes. The manager will monitor assigned lenders' portfolios and may manage their own. The position also requires compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry-related laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four to six years related experience
  • Six to eight years Business Banking experience acceptable if no degree earned.
  • Proficient knowledge of banking products, specifically small business
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication, analytical, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Sets goals for loan, deposit, wealth management, and other products and services.
  • Ensures bankers are following lending policy and procedures.
  • Makes sure their staff is adequately trained and informed of changes in the industry both internal and external.
  • Monitors the portfolios of assigned lenders and may handle their own individual portfolio.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Manages several subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of six to eight employees in the Business Banking department.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.
  • Directly supervises eight to ten non-supervisory employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
