About The Position

This is a great opportunity to learn and work for a leading Fortune 500 company in their Defense sector, offering various Business Development opportunities. The role is primarily based in Reston GHQ with potential travel to events and includes internal Leidos training. The Airborne & Mission Solutions, Business Area is seeking an intern for the summer to gain real business experience supporting the Defense segment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organized, communicative, and proactive, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include understanding prioritization, attention to detail, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing multiple tasks. This position supports the Airborne & Mission Solutions, Business Area in the Defense sector, with special project work in Contracts, Business Development, and Growth.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field of study
US Citizenship Required
In good academic standing (GPA 2.5 or higher)
Proficient in MS Office 365 applications (Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Outlook, Teams)
Complete tasks individually and as a team participant
Have a basic understanding of business management terms
Strong desire and ability to keep organized
Candidate should be available 20-40 hours per week. Hours can vary based on workload and candidate's school schedule

Experience with multiple software applications
Prefer candidates local to Reston, VA.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Background in business with interest in business development and growth

Responsibilities

Provide daily support to the Airborne & Mission Solutions, Business Area
Assist Business Operations with project tasking action items as requested
Data and document entry in different application platforms
Coordinate and schedule meetings
Accurate, organized, and punctual note taking abilities with after action report delivery
