About The Position

The Business Application Specialist delivers support to internal end users on multiple software application programs. This role will act as a subject matter expert for assigned primary and secondary systems, supporting end users to optimize platforms.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with supporting business applications systems including Infor Optiva PLM platform; relevant experience within the poultry/ protein, food & beverage manufacturing preferred
  • Good computer skills, knowledge of MS Office 365 required
  • Strong programming skills including knowledge of building and utilizing SQL
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, both internally and with external customers/ agencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to define, research and present a solution to correct issues
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
  • Ability to remain stationary working on computer for extended periods
  • Ability to work non-standard shifts (holidays, weekends and/or extended shifts) as required by business need
  • Periodic travel to field locations to provide training, support, project work as needed
  • On call average of 2 week time period per year
  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution o A combination of applicable experience and education may be substituted for education requirement

Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 2 application support for multiple platforms (e.g. Infor Optiva PLM, Infor Adage, Infor M3, Infor CloudSuites, Business Objects Reports, etc.) for internal end users including understanding the interconnection between these and other platforms and monitoring submitted tickets to ensure tickets are addressed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate activities with end users, help desk, infrastructure, application development, data services, and 3rd party vendor support to resolve issues
  • Lead projects to implement new or revise/ update current support business applications to enhance the functionality of applications; assist with rollout to and training of end users as applicable
  • Maintain and update documentation and provide training to ensure end users are optimally utilizing the applications
  • Research and troubleshoot reported issues using SLQ query/ basic report writing to find a solution
  • Develop and maintain special business logic within the application through Visual Basic development
  • Identify opportunities for improvement for existing applications, provide and/or recommend innovative ideas, processes, enhancements and modifications
  • Rotate with team members for On Call scheduling to provide assistance to end users on issues during off hours
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
