This role serves as the primary technical support for applications, specifically focusing on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). The specialist will act as an expert on WMS logic and functionality, ensuring system integrity through setup and control processes. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of existing software applications, as well as interfacing with Operations staff to review issues and changes. The role requires regular communication with Operations and internal departments regarding operational issues, process flows, and customer requirements, including analysis and recommendations. The specialist will coordinate with other departments to resolve site technical issues impacting application use and ensure timely resolution. Additionally, the role involves investigating and recommending new technologies and information systems, working with system providers for enhancement costs, and identifying application improvement opportunities. This includes designing, developing, testing, and implementing changes for service level improvements, cost reduction, and operational enhancements. The specialist will also assist in developing standardized and ad hoc reporting, analyzing discrepancies, and conducting feasibility analyses on application solutions. Monitoring system performance, performing maintenance and backups, and supporting customer-facing integration and implementation projects are key duties. The role also manages action items between Crane and systems vendors, participates in sales calls, and creates/maintains processes, procedures, and support documentation. Continuous learning of application capabilities, industry trends, and client requirements is essential.
