About The Position

The NYC Financial Information Services Agency - Office of Payroll Administration (FISA-OPA) has a vacancy for a NYCAPS Business Analyst. The NYCAPS Business Analyst will be responsible for data/application analysis. Tasks will include collaborating with the Business, Development, and Testing teams learning and documenting business processes.

Requirements

Good knowledge and ability to write SQL.
Basic programming knowledge on any language e.g. C/C++/Java/PeopleCode/SQR.
Good understanding of systems development lifecycle methodologies.
Good communications skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
Ability to learn and understand new applications.
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions.
Ability to learn, write, update and edit existing documentation.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and keep track of ongoing assignments.
Ability to work with a diverse team.
Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of PeopleSoft is an additional bonus.

Responsibilities

Work with the multiple teams and help in creation of functional design documents.
Serve as a liaison between the Department of Education and other City of New York agencies.
Work on interfaces/reports between PeopleSoft and the other systems.
Work on reconciling data between multiple systems.
Review functional specifications with technical staff during transition to technical design.
Work with the Testing team during systems testing phase.
Run simulations of the business event processing to ensure that software modifications have not introduced errors into the processes.
Coordinate user acceptance test activities with business users.
