CoolSysUNAVAILABLE, UNAVAILABLE
$80,000 - $100,000Onsite

About The Position

CoolSys solves the most complex challenges in refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, engineering, and energy management. With over 3,700 associates nationwide, we deliver tailored solutions to help businesses cut costs, improve equipment performance, and reduce emissions. Our services include HVAC and refrigeration equipment sourcing, installation, repair, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization. We also offer engineering design, energy resilience and consumption optimization, asset recycling, and seamless multi-site rollouts across states. Based in Southern California since 2007, CoolSys serves over 45,000 customer locations in industries like retail, food service, commercial, data centers, industrial, and pharmaceuticals. We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Business Analyst to join our Finance team within the Professional Solutions Division — a multi-business-unit division of CoolSys with a focus across engineering, energy, facility solutions, equipment sales, and project management operations. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you will play a key role in improving how we use data — transforming manual processes into scalable solutions, building dashboards that drive decisions, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, data, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will be comfortable digging into messy data and making sense of it. You ask “why does this process exist?” before improving it. You balance analytical rigor with a pragmatic bias toward getting things done, and you communicate clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years in a business analyst, FP&A, or data-focused role.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance and accounting (P&L, budgeting, core KPIs).

  • Proven ability to translate data into clear insights and visualizations.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with data modeling or warehouse concepts preferred.
  • Experience supporting M&A, budgeting cycles, or long-range planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and lead efforts to streamline or eliminate manual processes, with a focus on automating and modernizing Excel-based workbooks.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports that surface meaningful KPIs, enabling leadership to make timely, data-driven decisions.
  • Work with raw, unstructured data from ERP systems — cleaning, structuring, and validating it to support reliable analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with the FP&A team and cross-functional stakeholders to support high-priority strategic projects, including ad hoc analysis and business case development.
  • Apply a working knowledge of financial concepts, accounting principles, and KPIs to ensure analysis is grounded in business context.
