About The Position

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Business Analyst position. This position is a contract opportunity which is expected to be on-site for a duration of one year. The selected Business Analyst will provide business analysis, project coordination, and technical assessment services to support the migration of legacy Microsoft Access databases to an approved enterprise application platform. The primary objective of this role is to lead discovery, application assessment, business process analysis, and requirements gathering activities while serving as the primary liaison between the IT organization, business divisions, financial subject matter experts (SMEs), and the implementation vendor. The resource will ensure business processes, financial logic, budgeting workflows, reporting requirements, data structures, and application functionality are accurately documented and translated into requirements for the replacement solution.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of business analysis experience supporting enterprise software implementations or application modernization projects.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience analyzing Microsoft Access databases.
  • Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and application requirements.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions.
  • Experience supporting application migration, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams.
  • Technical Microsoft Access Fluency: Deep understanding of Microsoft Access, including the ability to analyze and reverse-engineer relational tables, relationships, SQL queries, forms, reports, macros, and VBA code to identify business rules and application functionality.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong familiarity with financial concepts, reporting, and data models (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, general ledger, cost allocation, or expense tracking) to accurately interpret financial workflows, reporting requirements, and business rules embedded within legacy Access databases.
  • Low-Code/No-Code Awareness: Working knowledge of Low-Code/No Code (LCNC) platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Dataverse, Power Automate, Airtable, OutSystems, Mendix, or similar) and the ability to align business requirements with modern application capabilities.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven experience managing project schedules, milestones, risks, issues, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or Scrum Master certification.
