About The Position

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Business Analyst in the Finance Department. This position supports the institution's financial operations through accurate reporting, analysis, and compliance, helping to ensure strong fiscal stewardship and provide data-driven insights to academic and administrative units. This position reports to the Director of Treasury and Student Accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (can be met with appropriate experience)
  • Prior experience in accounting, financial analysis and/or student receivables
  • Knowledge of fund accounting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, teamwork, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit accounting

Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly and annual financial reports and variance analyses
  • Supporting accounting and student billing through reconciliations and journal entries
  • Partnering with the Director of Treasury and Student Accounts, the Registrar and Financial Aid Office to effectively communicate with students regarding past due balances, financial aid awards and registration changes affecting overall balances
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Providing documentation for annual audits and regulatory reporting
