About The Position

As a Business Analyst, you will support a large-scale modernization program by performing business and system analysis across microservices architectures, API-driven workflows, and enterprise application modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for translating business needs into actionable requirements, creating user stories and acceptance criteria, supporting Agile delivery teams, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. You will work closely with developers, architects, QA teams, and operational stakeholders to define requirements, document processes, support testing activities, and contribute to the successful delivery of modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, Agile experience, and the ability to communicate effectively across both technical and business teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of business analysis and systems analysis experience.
• Proven experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements.
• Experience supporting API development, integration projects, and application modernization initiatives.
• Strong Agile/Scrum methodology experience, including user story creation and backlog management.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps Boards for requirements tracking and Agile project management.
• Ability to write clear, detailed, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience creating process maps, workflow documentation, and requirements traceability artifacts.
• Ability to interpret SQL queries and understand relational database structures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with microservices-based applications and service-oriented architectures is preferred.
• Experience working within regulatory, compliance-driven, or highly governed environments is desirable.
• Transportation, tolling, or related industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for APIs, microservices, and application modernization initiatives.
• Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and business documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, and operational teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Facilitate requirements clarification sessions and stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment across teams.
• Manage backlog items, requirements, and project tracking activities using Azure DevOps Boards.
• Support quality assurance efforts by validating requirements, reviewing user stories, and confirming acceptance criteria.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, project teams, and leadership.
• Develop and maintain process maps, workflow diagrams, and supporting documentation.
• Support requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and achievement of sprint objectives.
