Business Analyst

Rainfall HealthSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

Rainfall Health is a fast-growing health tech company on a mission to make care delivery smarter, faster, and more equitable. Our platform helps health systems and provider groups streamline clinical workflows and close care gaps, leveraging AI to drive meaningful healthcare impact for patients. The Role Rainfall Health is looking for a curious, driven, and adaptable Business Analyst to join our team. This is an entry-level, high-visibility role designed for a recent graduate who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is excited to roll up their sleeves across multiple functions. You will work as a cross-functional resource embedded across our Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Operations teams, taking on a range of projects that require sharp analytical thinking, strong communication, and a bias toward action. This is not a siloed role — you will be expected to context-switch, manage competing priorities, and bring structure to ambiguous problems. If you love variety, learning quickly, and making an impact from day one, this is the role for you.

Requirements

  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public health, data science, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data — whether in Excel, Google Sheets, or other tools
  • A self-starter who is equally comfortable taking direction and working independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you can translate data into clear, compelling narratives
  • High adaptability and willingness to shift priorities based on business needs
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Genuine curiosity about healthcare, health tech, or the startup ecosystem
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience; internship experience in a business, analytical, or research-oriented role is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar) a plus
  • Experience with CRM or project management tools (HubSpot, Notion, Asana, or similar) preferred but not required
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to health IT, digital health, or the healthcare industry
  • Familiarity with SQL or basic data querying
  • Prior startup or early-stage company experience (including internships)
  • Experience supporting sales or customer success functions
  • Strong PowerPoint or slide design skills

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional teams — partner with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Operations on a rotating project basis, bringing analytical rigor and executional support to wherever it’s needed most.
  • Analyze data and surface insights — pull, clean, and interpret data from internal tools and external sources to help teams make faster, better-informed decisions.
  • Build reports and dashboards — develop and maintain recurring performance reports, pipeline summaries, and operational metrics across departments.
  • Conduct market and competitive research — dig into industry trends, competitor positioning, and customer dynamics to inform go-to-market strategy and product decisions.
  • Support project management — help track workstreams, maintain documentation, and keep cross-functional initiatives on schedule.
  • Assist with presentations and communications — compile findings, synthesize information, and help create materials for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Handle ad hoc requests — be a reliable, resourceful problem-solver for whatever comes up across the business.
