About The Position

The Business Analyst will evaluate financial and operating performance, translate business needs into clear requirements, and deliver insights that support informed decision-making. This position will partner with leaders across the organization to identify trends, assess opportunities, improve processes, and support planning and performance management. The role will also help ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of business data and use data mining techniques to uncover patterns, relationships, and opportunities across financial and operational information. The primary goal of this position is to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and decision quality across HorsePower Brands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, or a related field.
  • One (1) or more years of professional experience in business analysis, financial analysis, operations analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret business results and identify meaningful trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI is beneficial.
  • Ability to gather requirements, map business processes, and convert findings into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analysis clearly to both financial and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience validating data quality, reconciling discrepancies, and mining structured data to identify trends, relationships, and business insights.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Financial and Operating Performance: Review revenue, expenses, margins, unit economics, and key operating measures to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support Planning and Forecasting: Assist with budgets, forecasts, business cases, scenario analyses, and performance reviews by gathering inputs and developing clear, decision-ready analysis.
  • Develop Performance Reporting: Define practical business metrics and prepare recurring reports, scorecards, and presentations that communicate results to leaders and operating teams.
  • Identify Process Improvement Opportunities: Evaluate workflows, document current-state processes, identify root causes and inefficiencies, and recommend improvements that support scalable operations.
  • Translate Business Needs into Requirements: Partner with stakeholders to clarify objectives, document requirements, define success measures, and coordinate implementation of business solutions.
  • Maintain Data Integrity and Mine Business Data: Validate data for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and appropriate business definitions; investigate discrepancies; and analyze detailed financial and operational data to uncover patterns, drivers, and actionable opportunities.
  • Communicate Insights and Recommendations: Summarize complex findings in clear business terms and present actionable recommendations to financial, operational, and executive stakeholders.
