About The Position

Everforth ECS is searching for a Business Analyst to support its work remotely. The Business Analyst (BA) should be proficient in analyzing business needs, identifying problems, and proposing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. They need strong communication, analytical, and technical skills to bridge the gap between business and technology, collaborating with stakeholders to implement changes and drive successful outcomes. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to analyze complex information is essential.

  • BA or experience equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to write a complete Jira ticket, following the correct format, completing all required fields, and correctly inserting it into the DSF ticket hierarchy.
  • Ability to write an accurate Jira ticket that includes an analysis of the request, its impact on the existing system, problem-solving, evaluation of better solutions, identifying questions and evaluating answers, and how that fits in with the requirement.
  • Trouble shooting/analyses of issues as they arise, understanding the system, project purpose and goal, and the bigger picture.
  • Asking questions if unsure; not just doing as much as possible then asking for review and completion.
  • Clear communication of requirements and proposed solution(s) to stakeholders.
  • Design slide deck that covers all pertinent aspects of the project, process modeling, impact on other parts of the system and how that will be handled.
  • Ability to discuss alternative solutions and impact during discussions with stakeholders as they raise questions/comments, understanding how the system, its business rules and its processing currently works as well as what future needs have been identified.
  • Timely completion of tasks, understanding of how long it should take to complete a task, and knowing its priority.
  • Perform peer reviews on team members’ tasks.
  • Support development and testing processes by providing answers to developer and tester questions and updating tickets if the information was missing from the initial ticket.
  • Actively take part in the testing process to ensure the end result satisfies the initial requirement and agreed-upon solution as interpretation of tickets can vary.
  • Create deliverables as needed, including CRD, RTM, Baseline Requirements Document, and Release Plan.
  • Follow a process to keep track of own tasks, so that others don’t have to remind you of open tasks.
  • When all tasks are completed, be pro-active on upcoming tasks, reach out to team members with requests for more tasks, even members outside of BA.
  • Determine value-added improvements to the system and processes that can be discussed with the team.
  • Provide input when the team is discussing solutions.
  • Handle CUI information appropriately, as explained in annual training from DOD and ECS.
