About The Position

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR). The incumbent serves as liaison between business units and the technology team providing assistance to the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Tax and Revenue with the implementation and support of various Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) packages supporting the business functions of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing and maintaining an understanding of the key business processes and policies; assisting business units with process improvements; assisting in the resolution of system issues to allow for timely processing of business transactions; tracking current software trends and providing the business units with recommendations for upgrading or replacing production systems; assisting in the gathering of requirements for new or existing systems; participating as a consultant on software evaluation; assisting in fit/ gap analysis, system configuration, and the establishment of the requirements traceability matrix (RTM); creating test cases to confirm the system meets the needs of the District; assisting in documenting all re-engineered business processes modified during the implementation process; and identifying and documenting IT roles and responsibilities for maintaining the new system once implemented. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as assessing and documenting business operations to improve business processes
  • Analyzing and recommending corrections and enhancements to financial systems
  • Translating business requirements to various technical solutions
  • Conducting test scenarios and reviewing test scripts

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of tax, compliance and financial regulations is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology is preferred
  • GenTax experience is desired
