This position requires full-time on-site support. The Business Analyst conducts interviews with business representatives and other department leaders, utilizing excellent communication skills to address a diverse group of personnel (technical & business representatives). They relay information from the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to business clients in easily understood terms. The role involves documenting facts and translating them into business process models and process flow diagrams. Additionally, the Business Analyst compiles a list of applications currently used by the organization and identifies potential future needs for customer service improvement. They analyze business applications to determine which are currently in use, which may not be performing optimally, or which are not meeting business goals and objectives. Workflow analysis is conducted to assess and identify difficulties in reaching business process goals and to recommend improved strategies. Additional duties may include performing case management, conducting studies for data transfer into usable workflows, incorporating departmental inter-dependencies into project scope, acting as a liaison between business organizations and OIT to distinguish requests from true needs, assessing proposed project plans for accurate requirements and guaranteed success/business value, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of proposed projects while focusing on individual departments and the overall project scope.
